Region 5 After School Partnerships
Home Page

The Monterey County Office of Education serves as the Regional Lead Office for After School Partnerships and serves as a liaison between the California Department of Education (CDE) and local after school programs.

The Regional Lead's purpose is to provide training and technical support to school districts, their partners, and other community stakeholders who currently receive, or are interested in receiving and sustaining, after school grants. The Regional Lead is your first point of contact in accessing services to make your after school program successful. Region 5 serves Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties.

In 2009, the Technical Assistance for Program Effectiveness (TAPE) Collaborative formed out of a common passion to increase the effectiveness of technical assistance service delivery to the after school field. The TAPE Collaborative includes the Regional Leads from: Region 3 - Sacramento COE, Region 5 - Monterey COE, Region 10 - San Bernardino COE, and Region 11 - Los Angeles COE.

Funded by ASAPconnect, with support from The David & Lucile Packard Foundation and the California Department of Education After School Partnerships Office, the TAPE Collaborative pooled its resources to create products that help inform our work. Whether you are a Regional Lead Team Member, CDE staff, outside TA provider, or even a program practitioner, we hope these tools and documents will help inform your work as it has ours!
